Abstract

Consumption of chicken meat increased widely. Studying of chicken meat consumption Provides necessary information to set policies for the production and supply of chicken meat. The study was conducted in Babylon Province, Iraq; to investigates household consumption of chicken meat. Three hundred and fifty families were randomly selected. Most families consumed live chicken, 2-3 times a week,  consumed 2-4 kg each time. Chicken meat consumption increased with increasing of family size and monthly income. An effective strategy is needed to increase chicken meat production  to meet the increasing demand for live chicken meat.
