Abstract

Investigation evaluated the effect of reducing energy, adding an enzyme, and oat-based nutritional systems on the performance of meat chickens. Seven diets were tested: T1 (control diet), T2 (control diet - 150 kilocalories), T3 (control diet - 300 kilocalories), T4 (T2 + 300 grams of pectinase), T5 (T3 + 300 grams of pectinase), T6 (30% oat-based diet - 150 kilocalories with 300gm od pectinase enzymes), and T7 (oat-based diet 30% - 300 kilocalories with 300gm of pectinase enzymes). The experiment was aimed to evaluate growth rate, nutrient digestion , intestinal structure, and serum biochemical. The results showed that the energy reduction in the T2 and T3 systems led to a decrease in performance compared to normal groups. However, addition of enzyme from T4 and T5 resulted in a marked increase inĀ  growth rate, feed conversion factor, and nutrient utilization compared to a low-energy based diet. Diets containing 30% oat (T6) showed the best overall results relating to feed efficiency, weight gain and actual body weight (P<0.05). The addition of the pectinase enzyme from T7 diet also resulted in better development and intestinal structure compared to diets that do not contain oat-based supplements. In general, pectinase supplements effectively compensate for the lack of energy, which increases the nutrient uptake and the structure of the gut. The best performance was observed in the groups treated with the enzyme, especially under moderate energy deficiency. These results indicate that the use of pectinase with diets low in energy or containing oats is able to develop broiler growth rate and make it a promising strategy for sustainable poultry production.
