Abstract

for a period of 8 weeks. The effect of foliar melatonin and dry yeast extract on the vegetative growth of seedlings and some physical and chemical properties The experiment is carried out in a protected nursery at Al-Nasiriya city, Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq, of fig seedlings is investigated. The experiment is designed as a  factorial (0, 50, 100, and 150 mg  melatonin and 0, 5, and 10 g  dry yeast extract) in a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with a 14-day interval between applications. The highest plant height (34.70 cm) and total chlorophyll content (2.69 mg g FW) are found with the combination of 150 mg  melatonin and 10 g  dry yeast extract. Therefore, enhanced vegetative growth, pigment concentration, and nutrient status are obtained by the combined foliar treatment.
